The island of Gili Meno is still reletively unspoilt and tharefore is a great escape for honeymooners or visitors who just want to totally get away from it all. The island is only about 1km X 2km with no motorised transport - so NO cars, No motorbikes, No worries. So the mode is you walk, use a bicycle or jump in a passing horse and cart.

Gili Meno island is about total relaxation and the simple things in life, and with the most friendly of local communities you will ever meet, this is sure to guarantee this as a unique getaway opportunity.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms
Shack 58 has 1 A/c bedroom with kingsize bed and daybed, 2 bathrooms with toilet, hand basin and shower - one under a wooden thatched roof, and one open air - right under the stars!

Living Areas
3 large outside barugas, 8m X 6.5m with day beds and tables, a smaller 4m X 4m baruga with daybed for relaxing, and another 2m X 2m baruga on the beach at the waters edge..

Kitchen / Dining Facilities

Breakfast is included by Hengkie and Nirah the live in staff, they will also be happy to cook for you lunch and dinner off a small menu, they will also arrange a fresh fish BBQ with 1 days notice.  There are also a few local restaurants nearby.

Outside Areas

This unique getaway cottage is all about outside living and being on the beach, with BBQ facility as well, the boys will cook you the freshest seafood you can imagine.

Shack 58 Location

Situated on the nort east side of Gili Meno, part of 3 small islands known as the Gilis, and just a few kilometres from the Lombok mainland.

Information

The Gili islands are superb for Scuba Diving and Snorkelling. There are 7 PADI dive centers operating on the 3 islands. Shack58 also has a housekeeper who is always at hand to help make your stay as relaxed as possible.

The main bathroom is set up with two water systems - one fresh water and one with well water.  All water is bought to the property by  small fishing boat from Lombok - in the unlikely event the water cannot timeously be delivered the guest will need to use the well water.  The delays can be due to the tides being too low and the delivery boat not being able to get over the reef or the seas being too rough.  Please water is too be used sparingly!

Electricity has only been on the island for the last 4 years !  There is a main generator on the island -but  service is occassionally interrupted and when the power goes out IT GOES OUT...when the island is very busy sometimes the island's generator cannot cope with the spike of usage....one of the joys of being on a remote island with beachpaths and no transportation.

We do not have an emergency generator on the property - and make no apologies if the power goes out...this is all part of island life....  If your holiday is booked and it is to revolve around fresh water &  power please do not think about making a booking on any of the 3 islands as services are not guaranteed...Gili Meno is very much grass roots with very little development......this will not be your type of holiday...embrace simplicity as there are few places in this world that are easy to access...where you can still have have a remote experience with out being too remote and  that are still pretty basic.
